The council is a non-profit trade association comprised of firms that provide a wide array of engineering and other professional services for construction and environmental improvement projects. ACEC Ohio member companies provide services to local, state and federal government agencies, as well as commercial and industrial clients.
This spring, Sommer traveled to Washington D.C. as part of a group of ACEC Ohio members to deliver the industry’s position on key issues to legislators in Ohio’s Congressional delegation. These issues included infrastructure funding and tax reform.
At an association dinner, ACEC Ohio members hosted Congressmen David Joyce (R-14), Steve Stivers (R-15) and Michael Turner (R-10) and at a breakfast the following morning they hosted Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-9). The group also met with most other members of Ohio’s delegation.
“I’m honored to be part of this group of professionals dedicated to representing the key issues in our industry to our elected representatives,” Sommer said.
