Next Monday morning, LJB employees will stop by the break room to grab a piece of fresh fruit for breakfast. Others will actively count their steps as part of the firm’s Let’s Just Walk program. Both of these activities are examples of how LJB’s wellness program continues to encourage employees to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
The Dayton Business Journal recently selected 15 of the most outstanding health and wellness programs created and implemented by local companies. LJB is proud to have been selected as a winner, but the larger reward is the changes we’ve seen in our employees and our culture. The results from our biometric screenings have improved, and we received a zero percent rate renewal on our health insurance, along with the lowest claims loss ratio in the history of our company.
All award nominees were measured using the following six core areas of workplace wellness:
- Cultural and leadership commitment
- Foundational components
- Strategic planning
- Communication and marketing
- Programming and interventions
- Reporting and analysis
Congratulations to the other local award winners. It’s nice to see other organizations sharing our goal of improving the quality of life for employees.
