Saturday marked the kick-off to this year’s Dayton Battle of the Businesses, an event that LJB has proudly participated in since 2001.
Dayton Battle is an eight-day co-ed sports competition between area companies. While these sporting events create good-natured rivalries and bragging rights among the companies, the real goal is to raise money to support The Special Olympics.
Throughout the month of May, LJB conducted an internal fundraising campaign with a goal of collecting $1,000 for the cause. Employees supported cookouts, a cornhole tournament, a 50/50 raffle, and other fundraising events. At the end of the week, we will present our donation to the local Special Olympics.
The LJB Battle team had a great start to the sporting events, by making the Final Four of the volleyball tournament. Other events for the week involve miniature golf, tug-of-war, bowling, and a field day that includes various track and field events and a CEO water balloon toss.
Dayton Battle allows our employees to get some exercise, network with other local professionals and, most importantly, interact with the Special Olympians that we’re supporting.
